The town of Puchov, inhabited by almost twenty thousand inhabitants, is located at the right bank of the Vah River and surrounded by Biele Karpaty, Javorniky and Strazovske vrchy Mountains. The history of Puchov is very ancient on; the first historical records mentioning it are to be finding in the charter of Belo IV. the king of Hungary, dated by 1234. There were discovered remnants of an old people archeologist Baron Hoenning in the end of the 19th century, and those people inhabiting the area of Puchov in the ancient times been thereafter called by the name of Puchov. Traditional crafts that had contributed to the development of Puchov were weavery, pottery and book- printing. The “blue- printing” is another peculiar characteristic of the town, because is the only town in Slovakia, where “blue- printing” is performed. The most well-know historical monuments in Puchov are three churches. Among other, non- sacral monuments, the main place is occupied by the Zupny dom that was built by the order of earl Imrich Marczibanyi.
