Strbske Pleso is the highest community in Slovakia (1355m above sea level), where you can find architecture from the 19th century as well as from the year 1970, when was in these ski resort World Nordic Ski Championships. In winter Strbske Pleso, is the most complete cross- country ski area in Central Europe as well as is an ideal resort for downhill skiing, snowboarding and ski jumping. In the warmer months, is great for hikes through the scenery of the Slovak alp. Strbske Pleso is located at the heart of the National Park of High Tatras and this community is named after alpine lake Strbske Pleso.
